Launching right in the heart of GRID Braehead, this brand new outdoor pop-up market will bring together amazing local makers, bakers, creatives, food vendors, and small businesses to create a true artisan market atmosphere in one of the busiest and most exciting destination venues around.
And when we say heart of GRID Braehead… we mean it 
Our outdoor market will be positioned slap bang in the middle of the main car park area where tens of thousands of people shop, eat, drink, socialise, and spend their Saturdays every single weekend.
Surrounded by restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, shopping, and constant footfall, this is already one of the busiest lifestyle destinations around — and now we’re giving people another amazing reason to visit…

We’ll be bringing together some of the very best vendors the area has to offer, creating a vibrant outdoor monthly market packed with quality, creativity, amazing food, and community spirit.
These first two dates will initially be trial launch events as we introduce this exciting new concept to GRID Braehead — we’ll then announce future dates as we work towards building a regular go-to monthly market for the area…
Outdoor Stall Requirements
All stallholders must provide their own full outdoor market setup, including:
- Commercial-grade gazebo
- Heavy-duty table
- Ratchet straps
- Appropriate leg weights
Gazebos must be:
- Heavy, sturdy, and fit for purpose
- Suitable for professional outdoor market trading
- NOT lightweight leisure or garden gazebos
All gazebos must have:
- A proper roof structure
- 4 heavy leg weights attached at all times
- Weights secured via straps to roof corners and secured to each leg where possible
Acceptable weights include:
- Metal weights
- Sandbag weights
- Other professional gazebo weighting systemsWe may be able to offer gazebo hire for an additional cost - reach out to us if this is something you'd be interested in.
Stall Space & Presentation
All belongings, stock, equipment, rails, tables, and displays must remain fully within the boundaries of the allocated gazebo space.
No part of the stall or merchandise may extend beyond the gazebo footprint, and clear access must always be maintained for neighbouring traders and customer walkways.
Stall presentation is extremely important and should reflect a professional, upmarket market environment.
Stallholders are encouraged to:
- Create visually appealing displays
- Use varying product heights where possible
- Ensure displays are tidy, inviting, and customer friendly
- Put thought and care into the overall customer experience
Setup & Dismantling
Stallholders are fully responsible for:
- Setting up their own gazebo and tables
- Safely dismantling their setup at the end of the event
- Ensuring all equipment complies with health & safety requirements
Market staff will not be available to assist unless previously agreed in advance with the market operator.
The setup and dismantling of gazebos and equipment must also be included within each stallholder’s own market risk assessment documentation.
Weather Conditions
In suitable weather conditions, stallholders should trade without gazebo side panels in place to help create an open, welcoming market atmosphere.
Outdoor Markets & Adverse Weather Policy
For all outdoor markets operated by Makers & Merchants Markets, traders acknowledge and accept that events are weather dependent and may be subject to operational changes, restrictions, postponement, or cancellation where adverse weather conditions create potential health and safety risks.
The safety of traders, staff, customers, and the general public will always remain the priority of the market operator.
Makers & Merchants Markets reserves the right to:
- Amend market layouts or trading arrangements
- Restrict or prohibit gazebo use
- Require alternative trading setups
- Delay setup or opening times
- Cancel or close the market early
- Postpone or cancel an event entirely
where weather conditions are deemed unsafe or unsuitable for outdoor trading.
Examples may include, but are not limited to:
- High winds or dangerous wind gusts
- Amber or Red weather warnings
- Severe rain, storms, lightning, or flooding
- Any weather event considered a health & safety risk
All outdoor traders are fully responsible for ensuring their gazebo, weights, tables, stock, and equipment are fit for purpose and safely secured at all times.
Makers & Merchants Markets accepts no responsibility for:
- Damage to trader equipment or stock
- Loss of earnings
- Injury caused by inadequately secured trader equipment
- Costs incurred as a result of adverse weather disruption
Where weather conditions prevent the safe use of gazebos, traders may, at the discretion of the market operator, be permitted to trade from tables positioned beside or behind vehicles where space and safety allow.
Food and drink traders should note that, where possible, the market operator will endeavour to keep events operational unless official weather warnings or unsafe conditions make trading impractical.
No refunds will be issued for weather-related operational amendments, early closures, or cancellations beyond the reasonable control of the market operator. Any goodwill credits or transfers to future events will be entirely at the discretion of Makers & Merchants Markets.
