The Spring Market

The Spring Market will feature between 60–80 carefully selected stalls across two days. A wide range of product types will be represented, with duplication kept to a minimum.

Time: 11-4 (please note this may change)

Please note that floor space is tight and the venue is narrow, so traders must carefully consider their setup and may not be additional floor space on addition to your table. Please add details on the notes section on your application of you would like extra space or electric.

Our curated makers’ markets are held at The Pump Rooms, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, CV32 4AA, and are aimed at supporting small local and independent businesses.

Owned and managed by Warwick District Council Arts Section, The Pump Rooms is one of Leamington Spa’s grandest buildings. A Grade II listed venue, it operated as swimming and water treatment facilities until the 1990s before being transformed into a cultural space. Its preserved heritage and architectural charm provide a stunning backdrop for our events.

The venue consists of:

  • The Assembly Hall

  • The Conservatory

  • The Colonnade (outside undercover)

Both rooms are accessed via the main entrance. Outdoor stalls beneath the colonnade, a covered external area next to the entrance.

Stall Details

Stalls mainly consist of 6ft stalls with a few spaces for 4ft, 10ft & 12ft. Stalls are space only and very limited on and extra floor space in additional to your table.

Table hire is available as an optional extra. Chairs are provided.

Entry is free and fully accessible.
Assistance dogs only.

A full trader pack will be sent out prior to the event as well as time slots for set up.

Terms and Conditions

The Market UK – Terms & Conditions

By booking or attending a The Market UK event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
These terms are designed to protect you as a trader, our visitors, and The Market UK.

Bookings & Allocation

  • The Market UK reserves the right to decline, cancel, or remove a trader or booking at any time, even after payment has been made, without obligation to provide specific reasoning.
  • Removal from an event or future events may occur if products, conduct, or presentation are deemed unsuitable or inconsistent with the ethos or standards of our events.
  • Refunds will not be made for stall holder cancellations unless on certain circumstances and are at the discretion of The Market UK.
  • Traders agree that The Market UK’s decisions are final and that no legal claim, defamation, or damages action may be brought against The Market UK, its directors, or its employees in connection with the refusal, cancellation, or removal of a booking.
  • Stalls are not guaranteed until full payment invoiced is made and before the initial date stated on the invoice.
  • Stall allocations, positioning, and layouts are determined solely by The Market UK team and may be adjusted at any time to suit operational needs.
  • Hot food and drink traders must have prior authorisation on menu and equipment used at the time of booking.
  • No exclusivity is granted to any trader or product category.
  • All bookings are final. The stall fee is non refundable and cannot be transferred to other events.
  • If the event has a deposit system in place this will also be strictly non-refundable and non-transferable under all circumstances.
  • By purchasing a stall, you consent to The Market UK using images of your products from your social media accounts to promote the event and future markets. This includes and photography taken at the event.

Weather & Event Cancellations

The Market UK shall be under no liability for delay or failure to provide the services as a result of any act or circumstances beyond reasonable control including but not limited to, Act of God, legislation, injury, terrorism, war, fire, failure of power supply, bad weather conditions, lock down or strike etc.

In the event of a venue cancellation we are unable to refund or transfer stalls but will try and seek costs from the responsible party. If we receive a refund we will refund the largest amount possible back to the stall holder factoring in our unavoidable costs.   This amount will be decide at the time of cancellation and is not guaranteed or negotiable.

Presentation & Standards

  • Stalls must be professional, safe, and align with the artisan aesthetic of or events.
  • Floor length table cloths must be floor length and all items should clearly show priced.
  • The event team may request immediate changes to your display or remove items not deemed suitable.
  • Political or religious banners, signs etc. must not be displayed any items containing flags, religious figures and so on may need to be removed of instructed by any staff members of The Market UK.
  • Traders must arrive no later than stated on the trader pack or you will forfeit your stall. No one will be allowed to enter to set up after this time.
  • Stalls must not pack up or prepare to leave before the closing time of the event.
  • Stallholders that try to leave early or that contravene health and safety for our customers by moving stock and fittings before pack up time will not be asked back to trade with us, not allowed to use loading exits and may be reported for risking customer safety. This includes is your a food stall and sell out.
  • In the interest of health and safety walkways and fire exits must be kept clear at all times during the event. This may mean that stock and fittings have to be removed from your pitch if you have not left enough room for walkways.
  • Products containing offensive, explicit, or inappropriate imagery/profanities must be censored.
  • Products imitating weapons (toy, edible, illustrated, or otherwise) are not permitted.
  • Products that were not disclosed on your initial application may result in a member of our team asking you to remove these.
  • Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited near stalls or market areas.
  • The sale of food is not permitted from your stall unless you have received approval from the organiser and all requested health and safety documents have been received.
  • Trader spaces must be left exactly as found. All rubbish and waste must be placed in bins and not left on the floor. Food & Drink stalls must remove all waste also and provide their on bin for cups etc that may be disposed of on site.

Insurance, Safety & Legal Compliance

  • A minimum of £5 million Public Liability Insurance is required. Some hot food OR high risk traders may be asked for £10 million.
  • Employers’ Liability Insurance is required if you employ staff.
  • Proof of insurance must be available for spot checks & updated on our systems.
  • Traders must carry out and keep a risk assessment covering trip hazards, electrical/gas safety, hygiene, and infrastructure.
  • Own gazebos or structures included vehicles must be fit for purpose and weighted with a minimum of 40kg across the structure. The Market UK is not liable for damages caused by trader infrastructure.
  • Traders are responsible for ensuring all products meet UK legal and safety standards, including weights and measures, hygiene, cosmetics, toy safety, and hallmarking laws.

Food & Drink Traders

  • Must be registered with their local council and comply with Environmental Health regulations.
  • Display current Food Hygiene Rating.
  • Provide handwashing facilities of not available at the venue. (hot water flask & soap minimum).
  • All open food must have sneeze guards and handlers must wear gloves.
  • Allergen and ingredient information must be displayed.
  • Temperature checks must be carried out and recorded where applicable.
  • All waste must be removed by traders (not left in venue bins).

Hot food traders:

  • Must have PAT certificates for electrical items and valid gas safety certificates for appliances. If venue supports as or open flames inside.
  • No generators are permitted inside.
  • No power is supplied unless previously arranged on application.

Specific Product Categories

Cosmetics & Skincare

  • Must hold valid Cosmetic Safety Assessments (CPSR), CPNP registration, and maintain Product Information Files (PIFs).
  • Labels must comply with UK cosmetics law.
  • Vegan/organic/cruelty-free claims require certification.

Jewellery & Precious Metals

  • Items must be hallmarked where required by law.
  • A Dealer’s Notice (A4 minimum) must be displayed.

Crystals

  • Only authentic, responsibly sourced crystals permitted.
  • No mass-produced goods from Temu, Shein, Alibaba, etc.
  • Synthetic/faux stones must be clearly labelled.

Toys

  • All toys must carry the UKCA mark and comply with testing and certification requirements.

Alcohol

  • Must be sold under a valid Personal Licence.
  • Challenge 25 signage must be displayed.
  • Tens license is your responsibility of you wish to serve alcohol for onsite consumption.

Conduct & Behaviour

  • All traders must act professionally and courteously toward event staff, venue staff, other traders, and the public.
  • Aggressive, abusive, or discriminatory behaviour will result in immediate removal and permanent trading ban.
  • The Market UK reserves the right to remove any trader for behaviour deemed damaging to the reputation of the event or company.
  • Repeated lateness (3 occasions) or no-shows (3 occasions) may result in removal from future markets.
  • Traders must stay for the full duration of the event unless authorised by an event manager.

Right to Remove & Legal Indemnity

  • The Market UK retains the absolute right to refuse, cancel, or remove any trader, at any stage, for any reason — including paid bookings — if the products, conduct, or business practices are deemed unsuitable or inconsistent with our ethos (e.g. AI-generated, non-artisan, or misrepresented goods).
  • Traders waive any right to pursue legal action, compensation, or damages in relation to removal, cancellation, loss of sales, or reputation.
  • Participation in one of our events is at the sole discretion of the organisers, and all decisions are final.

Liability & Indemnity

  • The Market UK is not liable for trader sales, theft, visitor numbers, or exclusivity of products.
  • You are responsible for your own property and safety at our events. You
  • Use provide your own public liability insurance to cover your stall and stock to trader at our events. This must be valid and updated on our system before trading.
  • Parking fines or penalties are the trader’s responsibility.

GDPR & Marketing

  • Trader data is retained securely and may be used for event administration and marketing purposes.
  • Business names may be featured on social media, websites, or printed materials.
  • Hygiene and licence details may be disclosed to authorities if requested.

Final Notes

  • Stallholders must remain within their allocated pitch size.
  • Floor plans are as a guide and the organiser of event manager has the final say of your positioning on the day of the event.
  • Event manager instructions regarding safety or presentation must be followed immediately.
  • Copyright and intellectual property issues are the responsibility of the parties involved — The Market UK will not mediate disputes.
  • Electricity is never guaranteed with a stall and is at the discretion of the organiser or venue. Any electrical equipment allowed must be PAT tested, safe and wires taped down.

Additional:

The Pump Rooms Venue does not allow open flames. Generators are allowed outside and on restrictions on types but please make use aware of use. All equipment must be kept within the venue boundaries.
