Unloading info

Timings:

The event will open to the public at 10am and traders will begin packing down at around 3pm.

Unloading will begin at 8:15am for those with electricity and 8:45am for those without. People will not be able to pack up until the event is finished at 3pm unless they have prior agreement from myself.

Venue Address:
Taunton Vegan Market is taking place in The Goodland Gardens, Taunton which is outside and open to the public at all times. Most of the event will be taking place on grass not hard flooring. During the event no vehicles will be allowed to enter.

Directions

If you are using a satnav/google maps please use this address to gain access to the event: 2-4 The Bridge, Taunton TA1 1UG

This address will bring you to a set of traffic lights just before a bridge. If the Bridge is ahead of you, at the set of traffic lights turn left up onto the pavement (I have attached an image from google street view to help). If the Bridge is behind you please turn right. Once you drive on site someone in a high-vis jacket will direct you.

There will be a one way system into the park for you to unload and then drive on through the park and exit at the other end via Castle Street. You will be able to park in the car park which will be opposite you when you exit. I've attached some images which should help with your arrival.

When you arrive you should be able to park in front of your pitch to unload. Please only park in front of your pitch as parking to the side of it will block the next trader from setting up. Please allow enough space for other traders to get past you while you unload.

Unloading & Parking

Traders who have booked electricity are able to set up from 8:15am. Those without can set up from 8:45am.

It is unloading only in the gardens. Once you have unloaded please get back into your vehicle to park it offsite. You may erect your gazebo but must not start setting up your stall until you have moved your vehicle. All vehicles must be off site by 9:45am at the latest. If you arrive after 9:45am you will not be able to bring your vehicle onto the site and will have to walk your equipment form the car park.

Parking

We would recommend parking in the following car parks which will be open and free on Sundays.

- Castle Street Car Park, TA1 4AS. No Height restrictions in place. 4 min walk from site.

- Enfield Car Park, TA1 4AS. No Height restrictions in place. 5 min walk from site.

Your pitch
You must bring your own gazebo and equipment with you. Your pitch will accommodate a 3m x 3m gazebo (unless otherwise arranged). Please also bring appropriate weights for your gazebo even if the forecast is for low winds.
 
Floorplan
  • Pitches will be allocated on the day of the event.
  • Those who require electricity will be next to the power points.
  • Please find and speak to someone in a high vis jacket before setting up your pitch to confirm you are in the correct place.
  • If you plan to switch pitches with another trader please consult both the event manager and the other trader first.
  • Any special requests for pitch placement will have been taken into consideration.
  • If you are unhappy with your pitch please make me aware as soon as possible.
Electricity
Electricity will only be provided to those who booked in advance of the event. If you have booked electricity please bring extension cables with you and ensure that all your equipment is PAT tested. You will be required to bring with you an adaptor that fits into a 32amp socket.
Please also bring a cable cover to cover your wires and make sure all your cables are appropriate for outdoor use.
Wifi

There is no wifi for this event but there is good 4G connection in the town centre.

Waste

Please take all of your waste with you as per our terms and conditions. We are unable to accommodate your waste.

Pack up
  • The event finishes at 3pm.
  • Strictly no packing away before this time as this could become a safety issue with patrons still at the event.
  • Please ensure you have packed your stall up before going to get your vehicle.
Health & Safety
Please make sure you have all your correct documentation with you in case Environmental Health officers turn up and ask to see it.
What to bring:

  • A copy of your public liability insurance.
  • A completed risk assessment
  • Hand sanitizer for yourself and for customers if they are handling your products.
If you are serving food:

  • A copy of your Food Safety Certificate
  • Allergen information and risk assessment (including fire assessment if cooking)
  • Appropriate sneeze guards covering your food
  • Way of cleaning your hands before you touch food
  • Appropriate floor covering to protect the ground against oil spills.
All traders must have the above. If you do not have these you will not be able to trade on the day.
Verbal/Physical Abuse
Please note that any verbal or physical abuse towards other stallholders, members of the public, caretakers or management will not be tolerated. Any stall holder exhibiting such behaviour will be asked to leave immediately and all future events booked in with us will be immediately cancelled.
Fire Procedures

In case of a fire or a major incident please evacuate the area and head across to Castle Green. Please encourage customers to come with you. Do not re-enter the event site until the event manager says it is safe to do so.

Expected footfall
We have run a number of events in Taunton over the last couple of years and all have been fairly well attended.

We will be running Facebok, Instagram and Google ads in the run up to the event.
