Terms and Conditions
1. Booking & Payment
A pitch is only confirmed once the required deposit has been paid.
The remaining balance, where applicable, must be paid by the date specified by the organiser.
The organiser reserves the right to refuse applications that do not fit the ethos of the market.
2. Cancellations
All deposits are non-refundable.
If a trader cancels their booking, any monies paid beyond the deposit may be refunded at the organiser's discretion and only if the pitch can be resold.
If the event is cancelled by the organiser due to circumstances beyond our control, an alternative date, transfer of booking, or credit towards a future event will be offered where possible.
3. Products
All items sold must be handmade, designed, created, or produced by the trader unless otherwise agreed.
Products must be accurately described and comply with all relevant UK trading standards and safety regulations.
The sale of counterfeit, illegal, offensive, or unsafe items is strictly prohibited.
4. Insurance & Liability
Traders are strongly advised to hold valid Public Liability Insurance.
Traders are responsible for the safety and security of their own stock, equipment, and personal belongings.
The organisers accept no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to traders' property.
5. Set-Up & Pack-Down
Traders must arrive within the allocated set-up time provided before the event.
Stalls must be fully set up before the market opens to the public.
Traders must not pack away or leave before the advertised closing time unless agreed with the organiser.
6. Stall Presentation
Stalls should be clean, professional, and welcoming.
Traders are encouraged to display clear pricing.
The organiser reserves the right to request the removal of any display deemed unsafe or inappropriate.
7. Health & Safety
All traders must comply with venue health and safety requirements.
Electrical items brought to the event should be safe and, where applicable, PAT tested.
Walkways and fire exits must remain clear at all times.
8. Food Traders
Food businesses must hold the relevant hygiene certifications and registrations.
Copies of food hygiene ratings, insurance, and risk assessments may be requested.
9. Photography & Marketing
Photographs and videos may be taken during the event and used by Oswestry Makers Market for promotional purposes.
By attending, traders agree that images of their stalls and products may be used in future marketing materials.
10. Conduct
We aim to create a friendly, inclusive, and supportive community market.
Bullying, abusive behaviour, discrimination, or harassment towards organisers, volunteers, visitors, or fellow traders will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event and exclusion from future markets.
11. Applications & Selection
Oswestry Makers Market is committed to supporting local creatives and small businesses.
Priority will be given to traders based in Oswestry and the surrounding area.
Applications from outside the area are warmly welcomed and will be considered where space allows and where they complement the existing trader mix.
The organiser reserves the right to curate the market to ensure a varied and balanced selection of stalls.
12. Organiser's Right to Amend
The organiser reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and to make decisions in the best interests of the event and its participants.
