Welcome to the Cardiff Victorian Christmas Market
Step into the magic of Christmas and become part of one of the UK's most immersive festive market experiences.
The Cardiff Victorian Christmas Market will transform the heart of the city into a vibrant celebration of Christmas, bringing together high-quality independent traders, artisan producers, festive food, live entertainment and thousands of visitors in a truly unique Victorian setting.
Inspired by the award-winning Victorian Christmas Markets delivered by LSD Promotions in locations including Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Banbury, Swansea, Sutton Coldfield and Worcester, the event combines traditional festive charm with a carefully curated mix of retail, street food and entertainment to create an unforgettable visitor experience.
Expect beautifully presented stalls, Victorian-themed performers roaming the market, choirs, live music, festive lighting, interactive attractions and an exciting programme of entertainment throughout the event. Every trader plays a vital role in creating the atmosphere, helping to transform the city centre into a truly immersive Victorian Christmas experience.
The market will showcase a carefully selected mix of independent retailers, artisan food and drink, handmade gifts, festive produce and unique products not found on the high street. A comprehensive marketing campaign, including social media advertising, influencer partnerships, local and regional press, digital marketing and PR, will promote the event to attract visitors from Cardiff, South Wales and beyond.
Victorian Dress Code – Creating the Atmosphere
One of the defining features of our award-winning Victorian Christmas Markets is the incredible atmosphere created by our traders. The Victorian dress code is fundamental to the success of the event and is one of the key reasons visitors return year after year.
It is therefore a mandatory requirement that all traders and their staff wear appropriate Victorian period costume throughout the event and during all public opening hours, whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant food hygiene and health & safety legislation where applicable.
This requirement forms part of the event Terms & Conditions. Any trader or member of staff not complying with the Victorian dress code may have their stall closed immediately, with any applicable deposit withheld. This policy will be enforced consistently throughout the event, and no exceptions will be considered.
To celebrate the outstanding effort our traders put into bringing the market to life, we'll once again be holding our Best Dressed Victorian Stall Competition, with the following prizes:
First Prize – 100% pitch fee refund
Second Prize – 50% pitch fee refund
Third Prize – 25% pitch fee refund
Whether you're an experienced Victorian trader or joining one of our themed markets for the first time, our team will be happy to offer guidance and inspiration on suitable costumes and presentation to help you fully embrace the spirit of the event.
We look forward to welcoming you to Cardiff Victorian Christmas Market 2026 and creating something truly magical together.
