Ashbourne Artisan Food Market is a one day food and drink market taking place in the heart of Ashbourne town centre. The market celebrates high quality artisan producers, makers and street food traders, offering visitors the chance to shop, eat and enjoy great food in a lively, welcoming setting.

The market will feature a curated mix of take home artisan food and drink producers alongside street food traders serving food to eat on the day. The event is designed to be a relaxed, social experience for visitors, encouraging visitors to browse stalls, enjoy freshly prepared food and spend time in the town.

The market runs on Sunday only and traders must be able to attend for the full duration of the event.

Trader Pitch Fees

Trader pricing is based on how food is sold:

  • £50 – Artisan food & drink producers selling items to take home
    (e.g. baked goods, packaged food, preserves, drinks, confectionery)

  • £75Street food traders selling food to be eaten on the day


Pitch Information

We have a limited number of indoor and outdoor trading spaces available.

Traders must bring their own tables, gazebos and any equipment required for their setup. Equipment is not provided. Electricity will not be available for outdoor pitches so you will need to be self sufficient.

When applying, please clearly state whether you are applying for an indoor or outdoor space, along with any specific requirements. Where possible, we will do our best to accommodate preferences, subject to availability and suitability.

Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all vendors trading at any Artbourne Limited event.

1. Eligibility

  • Open to artists and makers working in any medium, provided work is original, handmade and created by the exhibitor.

  • Artists must be able to attend in person for the full two days of the trail.

2. Stall/Venue Allocation

  • Venues will be assigned by the organisers based on suitability, space and availability.

  • Artists may be hosted in retail units, cafés, community spaces, churches or outdoor areas.

  • Artists may not swap or move venue without written permission from the organisers.

3. Setup and Pack Down

  • Setup times will be confirmed closer to the event, typically on the morning of Saturday 30th May.

  • Artists are expected to be fully set up before the event opens and remain open until the end of each day.

  • All displays must be removed promptly at the end of Sunday 31st May.

4. Fees

  • A non-refundable participation fee will be payable upon acceptance.

  • Your place is not confirmed until payment is received.

5. Sales

  • Artists are responsible for their own sales, stock, and pricing.

  • Artists must handle their own payments (cash, card, etc.) and provide receipts if requested.

  • No commission will be taken by Artbourne unless separately agreed.

6. Insurance & Liability

  • All artists must have valid public liability insurance covering a minimum of £2 million. Proof must be submitted before the event.

  • Artists are responsible for the safety and security of their display, stock and equipment.

  • It's important to consider any risks your business may cause (e.g. trip hazards, sharp objects) and we recommend completing a risk assessment before the event. If providing your own gazebo, it must be erected correctly including the use of appropriate weights to ensure there are no risks to yourself or visitors.
  • Your stall must be set up safely. All walkways must be clear, products must be stacked securely and nothing on the stall is able to cause harm to the stall holder or visitors.
  • Artbourne and venue hosts are not liable for theft, loss or damage to artwork, products or personal belongings.

7. Promotion & Marketing

  • Artbourne will promote the event widely but artists are also encouraged to share and promote their participation.

  • By taking part, you give permission for us to use your name, images of your work from your application and photographs taken during the event for marketing purposes.

8. Conduct

  • Artists are expected to engage with the public in a friendly and professional manner throughout the event.

  • Displays must be neat, safe and respectful of the venue space.

  • Noise levels, use of equipment and materials must not disrupt fellow exhibitors or hosts.

9. Cancellations

  • If you are unable to attend, please inform us as soon as possible. Fees are non-refundable.

  • Artbourne reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will endeavour to reschedule or provide partial refunds where appropriate.

10. Sustainability

  • We strongly encourage the use of eco-friendly materials, minimal packaging and low waste displays.

  • Please respect your venue and leave no trace when packing down

11. Food Traders

  • No handling of food without gloves or utensils

  • All open food must be covered or protected by a sneeze guard

  • Hand wash facilities must be available (hot flask of water and hand wash is sufficient)
  • You must clear your own rubbish at the end of the day and not to be placed in the council bins
  • You must be registered with your local council and request an inspection from environmental health (some businesses are low priority and may not require, this is to be discussed with your local council)
  • Hot food must be stored, served and prepared in the correct manner with reference to your safer food, better business guide
  • Power is not provided at our event
  • Gas appliances must have a gas safety certificate and electrical items used at the event must have the relevant PAT testing

12. Alcohol Traders

  • You must have a personal license to sell alcohol. You must supply us with your license number before the event. If the license holder is not attending the event, the stall must ensure a competent staff member is present who understands the license requirements

  • Challenge25 sign must be displayed on your stall and ID checking must be carried out
  • Tasters are not to be displayed unless asked for by a potential customer

12. Smoking

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited around and on the stalls. If you need to smoke we advise walking outside of the market area
