National Coal Mining Musuem

I'm back hosting artisan markets at the National Coal Mining Musuem, to run alongside four of their popular events events:

1940's Day - Saturday 20th June

Yorkshire Day - Saturday 1st August from 10am until 4pm

Paws in the Pit - Saturday 19th September from 10am until 4pm (applications open in Spring 2026)

Light Up Festival - date TBC (applications open in Spring 2026)

These markets will be held both inside and outside, with contingency to move outdoor stalls inside if the weather is bad.

Ideally for the outdoor stalls you will have your own gazebos, weights, tables and chairs are required for these events - although the musuem do have a small number of gazebos available to hire, but you will need your own table.

For indoor stalls you can chose to either bring your own table or hire one - chairs are available for everyone.

50% of all stall fees are being donated to the musuem, and all of the hire costs for gazebos will also go directly to the musuem.

Stall hire for is:

  • Own set up in a 3x3m gazebo - £35
  • Own set up in a 6x3m gazebo - £70
  • Hire a 3x3m gazebo - £45
  • 6ft stall with table hire indoor - £40
  • 6ft stall, own table indoor - £35

Please note, the musuem will be providing food and drink options, and so applications will not be accepted for that - although a cake/bake stall is welcome.

Applications from businesses offering dog based products are welcome for Paws in the Pit too.

Parking is free on site, and there will be a dedicated area for stallholders.  There are toilets on site too.

Set up times will be confirmed - but likely to be from 8am ready for a 10am start. Then there’ll be an hour for pack down.

Do get in touch if you’d like more info - [email protected].
